Insights & Innovations-Navigating the Future of Labels in India-Buyer’s Perspective” on the 12th of April 2024

120 LMAI members, including over 65% leading printer members, LMAI Board of Directors, sponsors, panelists and  media persons attended the program. Eminent panelists from leading FMCG companies delivered insightful responses questions put forward by the moderator Harveer Sahni, Chairman Weldon Celloplast and Director LMAI. The panelists included packaging development professionals; Koel Bhadra from Loreal, Sanjay Ghoshal Diageo, Yogesh Bambal Mondelez, Amit Saurkar Marico, Sainath Mane Unilever and Prabir Das formerly from Mylan.

LMAI secretary Jaideep Singh welcomed the panelists and Sandhya Shetty event coordinator introduced the panelists. Initiating the discussion Koel Bhadra stressed the need for desirability and sustainability while creating innovations. Sanjay Ghoshal delivered the need for the label to be embellished, innovative and have security features so as to be the important sales facilitator at a time when due to sustainability measures, the outer cartons are being eliminated. Prabir Das impressed the need to have all the variable data on the small labels and for the pharma labels to be compliant to government statutory information. Yogesh Bambal said personalization is an important feature that will enhance the sale proposition, more so at festival times. Amit Saurkar agreed that food safety is imperative and there is need to use inks, coatings and adhesives that are non-migratory and do not pose a health hazard. Sainath Mane from Unilever said selection of the printing technology whether flexo, screen or gravure depends on a product and its targeted consumers.
