Photonfocus AG receives Silver Innovators Award from Vision Systems Design

Honored for Innovation: the New Photonfocus UV CMOS Camera

Photonfocus unveiled the world’s first UV CMOS camera with global
shutter at the start of the year – and has now won the renowned Silver
Innovators Award from Vision Systems Design. With this distinction, the
jury made up of experts from system integrators and users acknowledges
the innovative technology and far-reaching significance of the
MV4-D1280U-H01-GT for the vision industry and the automation market.
Thanks to its highly sensitive UV sensor, the camera offers
distortion-free images in vivid quality – even at high cycle rates and
with extraordinary bandwidth: A single camera can cover wavelengths from
the UV range starting at 170 nm, all the way up to the NIR spectrum at
820 nm.

The camera from Photonfocus’ MV4 series combines UV and CMOS
technology for the very first time, thereby enabling pioneering 3D
applications in the UV range. To ensure the best possible image quality
and keeping image noise to a minimum, this unique camera has a
back-illuminated sensor. With a frame rate of 140 fps at a full
resolution of 1280 x 1024 pixels, it captures extremely fast processes
not visible to the human eye. These features and the C-mount adapter
that can be used for various standard lenses make the high-performance
camera ideally suited for the demanding inspection tasks found for
example in the semiconductor industry, glass production, the automotive
sector and other industries. Moreover, it measures just 59 x 59 x 102.5
mm and is easy to integrate in a variety of applications. Its 10 GigE
interface ensures fast and reliable data transfer while also enabling
the device to be powered over Ethernet (PoE). This powerful camera fits
seamlessly into the modular and configurable camera family and is
available as of now. Like all Photonfocus models it can also be the
basis for customer-specific modifications and embedded solutions.
