OE-A Competition 2022 launched

OE-A is looking for your new products, prototypes and designs related to flexible,
organic, and printed electronics. Taking part in the annually run competition is now
possible. All submissions will be showcased at LOPEC 2022 and beyond.
Frankfurt, 10 June 2021 – “Smart ideas from young engineers, designers, and scientists are
wanted. We have launched our yearly competition and are very excited to receive ingenious
prototypes and products in the field of printed electronics”, says Dr. Klaus Hecker, Managing
Director of OE-A (Organic and Printed Electronics Association), an international working
group within VDMA.
“The goal of the OE-A Competition is to promote and showcase products and visions of
future applications and supporting the continuous development of the international market
for organic and printed electronics”, continues Klaus Hecker. Invited are all companies and
institutes to participate in one or more of the three different categories. The submitted
projects are judged by an international jury of representatives from well-known companies
and institutes in three categories: “Prototypes & New Products”; “Freestyle Demonstrator”;
and “Publicly Funded Project Demonstrator”.
Every project is a winner at LOPEC
Taking part in the OE-A Competition creates visibility for the participants. All submitted
products and demonstrators will be presented to the international community at LOPEC, the
leading exhibition and conference for printed electronics. A special moment is when the
winners receive their award during an official ceremony at the LOPEC dinner. LOPEC will
take place from March 22 to 24, 2022 in Munich.

Visibility at LOPEC and beyond
The competition projects are not only to be showcased onsite at LOPEC. But OE-A also
presents all demonstrators with additional footage year around at oe-a.org. Since this year’s
competition OE-A organizes a web-seminar for all winners to present their products to the
community. Furthermore OE-A flanks and supports the run of the Competition with press
and social media work.
LOPEC visitors have a choice
All LOPEC visitors also have the opportunity to cast their voice for their favorite project of the
competition. Visitors are invited to make their choice for the “Public Choice Award”. “This
year’s winner of the Public Choice Award was elected online with hundreds of votes from the
printed electronics community. We hope to have the same active participation onsite in
Munich, next year”, says Klaus Hecker. He adds, “It is a great pleasure to see the year by
year growing number of products for automotive and healthcare which are close to market.
Take your chance and hand in your application until end of August”, encourages Klaus
Hecker.
